Important Update From Sylvie Charest

Members,

This is a reminder from OEBAC about three very important topics.

1. OEBAC Enrolment: Thank you to the almost 7,000 members who have gone online and registered. We are processing all the information and you should receive your printed confirmation in the mail in the coming weeks.

If you have not yet enrolled, please go to www.mybenetech.com/OEBAC as soon as possible, use the information received through the mail on your OEBAC PIN letter and complete the enrolment process.

The enrolment is important to ensure your dependant and beneficiaries information is correct. This process only takes a few minutes to complete. The number one reason for a claim being denied is incorrect dependant data.

To help you, here is a short video showing you how to enroll: https://vimeo.com/369545972/82e156ebc8

NOTE: Please allow at least two business days for the dependants and beneficiaries information changes to be updated. If you have already enrolled at one of the Information Nights or by yourself, you do not have to worry - your information is being updated.

2. Denial of Claim and Explanation of Benefits: The OEBAC Team cannot reverse a denied claim until the Explanations of Benefits (EOB) has been issued.

If you have a claim denied, wait for your EOB and review it carefully. This EOB will tell you if there was missing information (i.e. a doctor’s note) and will appear on your Mobile App. If you filed a paper claim, the EOB will be mailed to you. If you need to ask for a reversal, gather any needed information to resolve the claim and then call the OEBAC Team at 1-844-793-1919 or email at info@OEBAC.org

3. Claims Backlog: In the last week, OEBAC has received nearly 5,000 backlog paper claims from Global Benefits, 800 OEBAC Mobile App claims and approximately 400 Personal Information Files (PIF) that are now being processed. That is in addition to the countless phone calls and emails directed to OEBAC.

We are endeavouring to clear this backlog by the end of the weekend and appreciate your patience and cooperation.

Sincerely,

Sylvie Charest

CEO, OEBAC
